Capturing traditional Romance: A Fall Engagement Session at Kankakee State Park
There is something so beautiful and calming about the Kankakee State Park in the Fall. The way the golden sun reflects on the tall grasses and the crisp orange trees is so stunningly beautiful. Skyler and Riley's wedding day is in September of 2025, and let's just say that they have an traditional kind-of love!
A Perfect Backdrop
During the fall, I swear the park transforms into a different kind of beauty. It really is a dream for photographers! Although it is beautiful year around, the fall time is the most pristine. Yellow and orange leaves, golden and amber hues, tall grasses... there are endless photo opportunities! Against this stunning backdrop, Skyler and Riley brought their love story to life.
From the moment we arrived, it was clear this was the perfect spot for them. A crisp air filled the atmosphere and the sunlight filled the sky ever so perfectly. A warm glow literally wrapped around them!!
A Walk-Through
First, we started along the river. Hand in hand, they walked along the pavement and their outfits matched the scene perfectly.
Secondly, traveling along the pathways, we came across a sunlit spot that I could not pass up. We spread a cozy blanket in the grass and they whispered conversations to one another that created a intimate moment that felt untouched by time.
Lastly, as the sun began to set, we headed into the field of tall grasses. Riley embraced Skyler so beautifully as you could tell they were totally comfortable by this time, and this really makes for the best and most fun photos.
I am overly excited for their wedding day in September! The reason I call their love traditional is because they are replicating their parents love stories and wedding day! All while embracing traditional music!
